07 31 2017

The 22st Annual Mad Dash is scheduled for Sunday, October 8th at 10:00 am starting from Meadow Road in Waitsfield and registration is open at - click on the Mad Dash link.

The Dash is a classic Vermont foot race that benefits the Mad River Path Association. The course goes near the Mad River, through a covered bridge and includes majestic views of mountains and farms. It is multiple events in one: 5K & 10K Road Race, 5K Fitness Walk and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Vermont Kids Fun Run.

“We are pleased to announce that Sugarbush Resort will be the Title Sponsor of the 2017 Mad Dash,” said Laura Brines, Board Chair.

Supporting the Dash makes perfect sense, said Win Smith, Sugarbush Resort President. “People choose to live in and visit the Mad River Valley largely due to the amazing outdoor recreational opportunities we have here. The Mad River Path is working hard to create more recreational paths for our community, and thus offer more choices for mountain biking, trail running, cross-country skiing, and walking.  In that sense, our interests are very closely aligned.”

It’s a great day for all ages in the midst of gorgeous Vermont foliage with: tee shirts for all participants, delicious lunch, live music and great raffle prizes (pre-registered participants only.) The free Kids’ Fun Run is race day registration only and starts after the Dash.

In addition to enjoying discounted registration pricing, participants who register on line in advance will also be entered into a raffle for one of nearly 20 great prizes donated by local businesses.

Volunteers are needed for a variety of jobs before, during and after the race. Please email with your availability and subject line of “Dash Volunteer”.

The Path Association is a member-supported non-profit organization working to create a network of public pathways throughout the Mad River Valley. To learn more about the Path or the MRPA, visit
